San Mateo High School has a long-standing reputation for its outstanding musical theatre and dramatic productions. Our productions are not funded by San Mateo High School or the San Mateo Union High School District. Tickets and concession sales cover only about 60% of our annual operation budget. We depend on fundraising, donations, and sponsorships to make up the difference.

 

This year our theater, the San Mateo Performing Arts Center, will be closing for renovations. Finding another venue for our 2011-2012 school productions has placed a great burden on the financial health of our program. Significant additional new expenses will arise for moving sets, costumes, light, sound and musical equipment to an outside venue. We anticipate an increase in expenses of $35,000 this year, over our usual operating expenses.

 

Please help us to continue to provide invaluable educational experiences for our students and quality entertainment for our community.
